Founded in 1980 the group is open to anyone interested in tracing their ancestry. In 2019 Wharfedale FHG merged with the Keighley and District FHS.
If your roots are in the Airedale and Wharfedale area or further afield you will find help and encouragement in this fascinating hobby by joining the Airedale and Wharfedale Family History Society.

As the boat contained other important goods, divers recovered the cargo. Old Ted was rescued and posted on to Mary. He arrived wet and was hung on the washing line to dry!

You can meet Old Ted in the newly redeveloped Craven Museum’s when we open our doors on June 21st!

In 1915, Old Ted travelled to Mary Mills in Skipton from her uncle in America. During his journey, a WWI German U-boat sunk Old Ted’s boat in the Irish Sea!
